It will also be a special non-working holiday on Monday, August 18, in celebration of the death anniversary of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino on August 21.
Though Aquino’s death anniversary is on August 21, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, through Presidential Proclamation 1468, moved its celebration to August 18 to give Filipinos an extended weekend.
The same proclamation moves the celebration of National Heroes Day from Aug. 28 to August 25 – a regular non-working holiday
