33 Meters Statue of Mother Mary Being Built

MONTEMARIA is a haven for pilgrims. It is not only a place of prayer, but also a fervent prayer itself. It commences a journey of a soul to the innermost meaning of life and living. Here the largest shrine in the world dedicated to Mary, Mother of the Poor becomes the visible sign of the Love of God to men and men to God proclaimed by the grandeur and the mystical way the shrine will be built. Through divine inspiration and human aspiration, heaven and earth will witness here the glimpses of the glory of God’s re-creation.

The shrine is a refuge where the tired soul withdraws to find peace and solace, and thereby discover how Mary comes to the aid of those in need of strength and consolation, the poor in society and the poor in spirit. It is an international pilgrim site for healing and a center whose heart is to allow especially the poor to experience the Lord’s greatness through shrine’s commitment to poverty alleviation and development programs. The village for the homeless, public hospital, educational programs, Marian Museum, theme parks and esplanade also highlight the character of Montemaria.

It is a monument with lasting sign of what is most valuable to man and to the world—the fullness of life as experienced by Mary herself in her Magnificat. Its perpetual value or symbol is epitomized in the enduring engineering structure of the statue for all times and all ages.

Montemaria is a peninsula in the province of Batangas, Philippines, overlooking the Verde Island Passage which has been declared Center of Marine Biodiversity in the World.

The shrine by its nature is a haven for everyone, a place of prayer and healing, and a home where one meets God.
